La pancita va creciendo / My Little bump keeps growing

Ya lleva 29 semanas este precioso bebé creciendo en mi pancita! Cada día noto sus pataditas y movimientos, sobre todo por la noche o cuando me quedo quieta durante un rato. Estoy contentísima y disfrutando de cada instante de esta maravillosa aventura de ser madre. El embarazo lo llevo bastante bien, no me puedo quejar de mi baby ya que hasta ahora no me ha dado ningún problema. Me controlo mucho mis niveles de azúcar (casi 15 pinchazos al día en mis pobres deditos me tengo que hacer!) y la bomba de insulina que llevo desde hace un año me está ayudando muchísimo. Camino todos los días un rato y voy a clases de yoga dos veces por semana.  Mi bebé se merece todo este esfuerzo y más!

29 weeks already this precious baby has been growing in my belly! Each day I feel his little kicks and moves, mainly at night or when I quiet down for a while. I am sooooo happy and enjoying each and every moment of the wonderful adventure of becoming a mother. The pregnancy has been a pleasure so far, I can´t complain of my little baby, he hasn’t given me any hassls yet! I control my sugar levels very tightly (almost 15 pricks in my poor fingers every day I have to make!) and my insulin pump that I carry for over a year now are helping me a lot. I walk every day and I go to yoga twice a week. My baby is worth this effort and more!

Hoy celebramos la Navidad los 4 juntos aquí en Vigo. Las primeras navidades de Julio en Vigo, su nueva casa. Lo pasamos muy lindo, en familia, calentitos, comiendo un montón de cosas ricas y hasta Papá Noel pasó y nos dejó algunos regalitos.

Today we celebrated our Christmas the 4 of us together for the first time here in Vigo. It was Julio´s first Xmas in Vigo, his new home. We had a lovely  family time, warm and eating lovely Xmas sweets like “turrón” and “pan dulce”. Even Santa Claus decided to stop by and give us some lovely presents!

Pero el mejor regalo fue el que recibió Julio: un trabajo! Empezó el mismo día de Navidad a trabajar en un párking del centro de Vigo, miren qué guapo está con su nuevo uniforme!

But the best present of all was for Julio: a new job! He started on the same Xmas Day working in a parking in the centre of Vigo. Look how handsome he is in his new uniform!

Como todos los fines de año, papá organiza una fiestita de navidad para los alumnos del Centro de Arte. Este año pude estar también presente en estas celebraciones y ayudar más activamente. Hicimos dos fiestitas, una para los alumnos más chiquitos, a los que yo les doy clases Montessori en inglés y otra para los alumnos más grandecitos. Hicimos una pequeña representación de títeres, comimos cositas ricas y tocamos villancicos con la guitarra y un montón de panderetas y tambores!

Like every Christmas, my Dad organizes a little party for all the students at the Centro. This year I could also be present in these celebrations and help. We had two parties, one for the younger children that I teach (Montessori classes in English) and one for the older ones. We had a small puppet show, we ate lovely party food and we sang and play musical instruments to the rhythm of traditional Spanish Christmas carols.

Feliz Cumple! / Happy Birthday!

Ya van 35 añitos en esta Tierra. Este año los celebré junto a mis amigas en Vigo, con unos ricos mates y unas tortas hechas por mi mami. Lo pasamos muy lindo charlando en el Centro de Arte de mi papi, debajo de nuestra casa.

35 años de felicidad. No me puedo quejar por todo lo que me ha regalado la vida hasta ahora: los mejores padres que se pueda tener ; los mejores amigos, incondicionales y verdaderos ; el mejor maridito :o);  viajes y experiencias en diferentes países;  estudios en diferentes países;  salud (aunque ya lleve 25 años con mi diabetes y casi 6 con mi celiaquía, las tengo super bien controladas y por suerte no me dan mucho la lata). Que más se puede pedir! Un hijo quizás? Pues, si, también voy a ser mamá dentro de pocos meses. Es que ya no puedo pedir más a la vida. Estoy tan feliz por todo lo que me ha dado hasta ahora y lo que me está haciendo disfrutar con este embarazo que hay días que me parece mentira y me pregunto si de verdad me merezco tantas cosas lindas.  Gracias, gracia, gracias!

35 years already living on this Earth. This year I celebrated them with my friends in Vigo, with some nice “mates” (our traditional Argentinean drink) and some delicious cakes made by my Mum. We had a lovely time chatting in my Dad´s studio downstairs our home.

35 years of happiness. I can´t complain for all that life has given me so far: the best parents one can ever wish for;  the best friends, unconditional and sincere;  the best “hubby”; travels and experiences in different countries; studies in different countries; health (although I have already 25 years of being diabetic and almost 6 with celiac disease I have them both really well controlled and luckily they don´t misbehave too much!)  What more can I ask for? A baby maybe? Well, yes, I´m also going to be a Mum very soon. I told you, I cannot ask any more from life! I am so happy for everything that it has given me so far that I cannot believe it sometimes, and I even wonder whether I deserve so many beautiful and wonderful things. What do I ever do to deserve all this? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Presentación “Argentina en el Alma, España en el Corazón” / Book presentation

Bueno, primero que nada debo contarles que la presentación del tercer libro de mi papá fue todo un éxito. Se realizó el sábado 11 en el Verbum, “ Casa de las Palabras” que está en la playa de Samil, aquí en Vigo. Fue mucha gente, se vendieron todos los libros que habíamos llevado y la gente quedó encantada con el acto, en el que hubo muestra de un video, actuaciones poéticas y musicales y un brindis al final. Para mí fue un honor poder haber estado y participado activamente de la presentación ya que en las anteriores no pude participar por estar en Londres. En esta hasta me animé a cantar un par de temas con mi padre a la guitarra, que coraje!  Pero debo decir que me gustó, igual me animo para futuras actuaciones! Jejeje.

The presentation of my Dad´s book was a success. It was on the 11th of December in Verbum, “The House of Words”, which is in Samil beach, here in Vigo. A lot of guests came, we sold all the books that we took and everybody said they really enjoyed the event. We had planned a video show, poetry recitation, music performances and a celebratory drink at the end. For me it was an honour to have been able to participate actively in the presentation as in the previous ones I was unable to assist as I was in London. In this one I even had the courage to sing with my Dad! I must say I really enjoyed it, so who knows… may be you see me performing again soon! Ha ha ha

Antes que nada debo disculparme por la tardanza en  publicar estas noticias ya, pero últimamente están pasando tantas cosas y tan rápido que no me da tiempo a estar al día con todo. La idea de este blog era para que ustedes estén al día de nuestras cosas, pero a veces el tiempo parece correr más rápido de lo que a uno le gustaría.

Presentacion libro Argentina en el Alma... / Book presentation

Ya queda poco para la presentación del libro de mi papi. Este sábado 11 de Diciembre a las 19hrs en el Verbum (Casa das Palabras) de Samil, Vigo, será la presentación oficial de "Argentina en el Alma, España en el corazón". Todo aquel que esté interesado y pueda asistir será bienvenido.

Motivos para celebrar este mes:

-Ya falta poco para que se cumplan 6 meses de esta pancita redonda que me está creciendo. Estoy disfrutando de un embarazo hermoso. Cada día siento más y más las suaves pataditas de mi bebé.

-Mis papis cumplieron el 10 de Noviembre 36 años de casados! Todo un logro en estos tiempos :o)

-Cada vez tengo más alumnos en el Centro de Arte Deulofeu donde doy clases con mi padre (http://centrodeartedeulofeu.blogspot.com/ )

Queridos amigos,

En este año histórico para las relaciones entre Argentina y España, en una fecha tan señalada para la Madre Patria y sus hijos de América, tengo el honor y extremo orgullo de comunicarles el lanzamiento del nuevo libro de mi supertalentoso padre querido: “Argentina en el alma, España en el corazón”.

El libro es un ensayo sobre el fenómeno de la emigración, las consecuencias del desarraigo, los problemas de la integración social, etc. Incluye relatos e historias que ayudan a iluminar el presente de las relaciones sociales y culturales de ambos pueblos, con una visión renovada y fresca. Un libro que contribuirá a afianzar y fortalecer los lazos que perviven desde la época colonial.

In this historical year for Argentine-Spanish relations, and in such a special date for the Mother Land and her sons in America, I have the honour to present you the new literary work of my super talented Dad, his book “Argentina in my soul, Spain in my heart”

The book is an essay on the phenomenon of emmigration, the consequences of leaving your own land , the problems of social integration, etc. It includes short stories that help to illuminate the situation of the social and cultural relations between the two territories, with a new and fresh vision. This is a book that will help to strenghten the relationships that still live from colonial times. Anecdotes, poetry and humour mix together in an optimistic and hopeful cocktail, with a clear homage to the emmigrants, to those that one day left and now return, to those that stayed suffering as much as those who left. Starting from a few interrogants , the author brings several answers, but above all, he leaves imagination´s door open, calling to our internal renovation, to some sort of necessary catharsis to enable us to grow and to those new feelings needed to be able to face the future in peace and freedom.

Un nuevo comienzo / A new beginning

Ya estamos en Vigo con mis papis. Llevamos un poquito más de un mes desde el comienzo de nuestra nueva aventura por estas tierras gallegas. Atrás dejamos Bromley, Inglaterra, después de 12 años de estancia allí. Ahora es todo vuelta a empezar, pero es lindo de vez en cuando darle un vuelco a tu vida y buscar nuevos desafíos. Pero lo más lindo de todo no es sólo el hecho de volver a estar junto a mis papis, a quienes adoro con toda mi alma y extrañaba más de la cuenta, sino el hecho de que esta nueva aventura tiene como protagonista a un nuevo ser que esta creciendo en mi pancita... un bebé hermoso que nacerá en marzo del 2011! Asi que, desde este pequeño espacio que es mi blog, pienso mantener informada a mi familia y amistades de nuestras andanzas. Espero que lo disfruten!

So here we are, in Vigo with my parents. It´s only been a little more than a month since the beginning of our new adventure in Galician land!. We left Bromley, England, after 12 years of living there. Now it´s starting all over again, but it´s nice from time to time to re-shuffle your life and look for new challenges. But the nicest thing of all is not only the fact of coming back to live near my parents, whom I adore with all my soul and whom I missed more than I could tell, but also the fact that this new adventure has a very special protagonist. A little new being who is growing inside my tummy....a beautiful baby who will be born in March 2011! So, from this little corner that is my blog, I hope to keep all my friends and family informed of our adventures. I hope you enjoy it!
